I moved to Catalunya when I was very young--it is a very special place for me. To celebrate, I will toast you with the region’s sparking wine, cava, in the episode “Surf and Turf”. We will learn all about this exceptional wine and cook with it, making a dressing for oysters and a wonderful mimosa that will change your life. I will take you mushroom hunting in the mountains and fishing for shrimp off the coast.

In the coming weeks, we will return to this special region in “Food Arts”. I will take you to my beloved market, La Boqueria, in Barcelona. And I will show you two great Catalan artists: Salvador Dali and Ferran Adria, hailed by many as the world's most creative chef.
